Project Background & Technical Scope
Qingdao Best Steel Structure Co., Ltd. successfully engineered, manufactured, and supplied the high-strength galvanized lattice angle steel towers for the 110kV overhead transmission line project developed by China Resources Power (CR Power).
The project establishes a critical high-voltage link between the Jianjianshan 110kV Step-up Substation and the Guaguashan 330kV Step-up Substation in Haiyuan, Ningxia. This transmission line serves as a vital energy artery, transmitting large-scale wind and solar clean energy from the sub-stations into the regional backbone power grid. Located in a mountainous loess plateau region, the line routes cross rugged crests and steep valleys, demanding exceptional mechanical stability and terrain adaptability for the lattice towers.
Manufacturing & Engineering Highlights
Mountainous High-Wind Load Optimization: Mountain ridges and valleys create unpredictable wind funnel effects. Our engineering team performed advanced wind-load simulations to optimize the structural cross-sections and bracing patterns of the 110kV angle steel towers. The engineered truss structures guarantee supreme overturning resistance against sudden mountainous wind gusts.
Premium Certified Structural Steel: To withstand severe cyclic wind vibrations and dynamic structural fatigue, all main legs and cross-braces were fabricated using high-tensile structural steel (such as Q355B/Q420B, fully compliant with global standard equivalents like ASTM A572 or EN 10025).
Certified Welding & Rigorous Quality Control: Welding integrity is paramount for transmission towers spanning complex terrains. All welding procedures were executed by AWS-certified personnel in accordance with AWS D1.1 and GB 50205 standards, verified by 100% Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to ensure zero defect rates.
Heavy-Duty Hot-Dip Galvanization: To resist long-term atmospheric corrosion, UV degradation, and weathering in the exposed northwest mountain climate, all steel tower components were hot-dip galvanized in full compliance with ISO 1461 / ASTM A123 standards, ensuring a rust-free, maintenance-free service life of over 50 years.
100% Prototype Pre-Assembly Check: Due to the challenging logistics of mountainous line construction, field assembly errors must be eliminated. A 100% full-scale trial assembly of the prototype towers was conducted at our facility, guaranteeing precise hole-alignment, flawless bolt fitment, and accurate match-marking for fast onsite erection.
