Project Background & Environmental Rigors
Qingdao Best Steel Structure Co., Ltd. proudly engineered, fabricated, and supplied the high-strength galvanized lattice angle steel towers for the 100MWp Solar PV Project Power Delivery (Evacuation) Line, owned by CNNC Concentric New Energy Co.
As a critical utility-scale green energy asset developed by CNNC (a global Fortune 500 state-owned nuclear and renewable energy giant), the project demanded a highly secure transmission infrastructure to deliver massive solar-generated electricity into the national backbone power grid. Located in a semi-arid, high-altitude desert-fringe region, the transmission line routes face relentless environmental stressors, including volatile desert wind shear, intense solar UV radiation, and rapid seasonal temperature drops, placing uncompromising demands on the structural resilience of the lattice towers.
Engineering & Manufacturing Highlights
Wind-Resistant Lattice Tower Design: To counter the strong gust conditions of open desert-fringe solar farms, our engineering division optimized the geometric configurations and truss distribution of the 4-legged angle steel towers. The engineered design ensures supreme structural stability and overturning resistance while maintaining an optimized steel weight-to-strength ratio.
Premium Certified Structural Steel: To withstand continuous dynamic wind vibrations and structural fatigue over decades, all main legs, stub angles, and cross-braces were fabricated using high-tensile structural steel (grades Q355B/Q420B, fully compliant with international standard equivalents like ASTM A572 or EN 10025).
Heavy-Duty Hot-Dip Galvanizing for High-UV Environments: Severe desert UV exposure combined with blowing sand particles can rapidly degrade standard protective coatings. All structural components underwent our advanced hot-dip galvanization process in strict accordance with ISO 1461 / ASTM A123 standards. The heavy, metallurgical-bonded zinc layer provides exceptional surface hardness and atmospheric corrosion resistance, ensuring a maintenance-free lifespan of 50+ years.
Certified Welding & 100% NDT Quality Control: Welding integrity is paramount for transmission towers supporting utility-scale energy infrastructure. All welding procedures were carried out by AWS-certified personnel adhering to AWS D1.1 and GB 50205 standards, verified by 100% Non-Destructive Testing (NDT/UT) to guarantee zero structural defect rates.
100% Factory Prototype Pre-Assembly: To eliminate any risk of costly installation errors or delays on the remote solar project site, a 100% full-scale prototype pre-assembly check was performed at our Qingdao facility. This strict process ensures perfect bolt-hole alignment, precise dimensional tolerances, and clear match-marking for fast onsite erection.
